In addition to attractive information, the game will have a closed beta phase. If you are interested in participating, do not hesitate to register by following our guide that will detail all the steps to validate your entry.
The arrival of a new hero: Sojourn
Since the arrival of Echo to Overwatch , players had nothing new in terms of gameplay. With the arrival of Overwatch 2, a new hero will already be present in the list of selections and it is about Sojourn, a female character already well known by the community.
In the history of Overwatch, Sojourn is a Canadian captain who was present before the events that led to the dissolution of the organization's group. She continued to find a way to stop Doomfist during the King's Row uprising 6 years ago. The latter had a great force, because it is she who would have changed the plan around the arrest of Doomfist so that the goal was changed. She has very narrow links with soldier 76, tracer, winston and genji, as she directed the radio operation to locate Maximilian, the new goal. And Sojourn appears in the main story of Ana, which makes it a large part of the overwatch Lore.
Regarding her playability, nothing has yet been announced. However, according to the images, we can realize that she is an expert with the assault rifles, so this could be a clue on her skills and sheap itself. Will she have a gameplay similar to Soldier 76? Only the beta scheduled for April 26 will be able to confirm it.
A fully changed user interface
Without realizing, XQC filtered the load screen, but also the Overwatch 2 boot 2. Even if this is not a revolutionary information, we can be calm to see that the interface for the next game will be completely new and it will not be a simple recycling of what we have seen in Overwatch.
A clear image has not yet been given, but here is the video of the American streamer who misbeit Overwatch 2 in full retransmission.
The End of 6V6 in Overwatch 2
A major change is planned for Overwatch 2: the end of the 6V6 equipment compositions. After many debates about the pairing and balance of the group, the developers decided to reduce the groups and now only allow the 5V5.
In the last Andyb report, the tank must play alone and will not be accompanied by another tank. Meanwhile, Healers will no longer have to worry about the two colossal objectives (tanks) and their task will be much lighter since the format eliminates 1. As for DPS, very little information has been given, but significant changes can be expected.
Therefore, with the help of this information, it is very likely that the composition of the equipment is done in this way: a tank, two DPS and two Healers. That there are 3 Healers or 3 DPS seems totally delirious, therefore, as shown in the image below, the new composition of the equipment could be 1-2-2.
Therefore, in order to solve the different customs about the composition of the teams and abuses of the community, the 6V6 format has been eliminated to give way to 5v5.
The Elimination of Certain Maps of Overwatch 2...
Certain maps will disappear in Overwatch 2: Horizon Lunar Colony and Paris. Whether it's fast, personalized or competitive games, you can no longer play on the next work. AU Revoir.
We do not know the reasons that led developers to eliminate their rotation maps, but we can suspect that the new 5V5 format does not fit completely in these maps.
... but there will be new maps
It is no longer a secret, but despite having two maps in oblivion, new maps will appear. In the BlizzCon 2019, the developers had already presented them a bit, but we can observe them with our own eyes during the closed beta.
At the end of April, players will be able to walk through the streets of Circuit Royale, a new map of Escort, Midtown, a hybrid control and escort map, New Queen Street, a map for the new game mode, as well as Colosseo, which It will also be for PUSH mode.
Overwatch 2 is synonymous with reworks of characters
Some characters will be submitted to a complete review like Bastion or Symmetra made several years ago. Shadow, Mei, Doomfist and Orisa lead the list of changes. Keep in mind that Doomfist changes tactics, because DPS officially becomes a tank in Overwatch 2. We do not know the game style of it, but you can play during the beta closed in April.
If Domfist could be modified in this way, it is very likely that significant changes for shadow, Mei or Orisa.
A new competitive game mode?
In advertisements, developers have been announced for a while a new competitive game mode: Push . This new mode was designed to bring more team fights to the entire map and does not force players to concentrate on certain points or predictable places.
To explain the game mode, players will have to meet a robot, which must push a kind of convoy to a very specific point. The players will pass the ball (ie, the robot) with each other, since when a team is alone or in numerical inferiority near the robot, the latter will follow the majority team. The winning team will be the one that has traveled more distance or has reached the end point.
Without revealing too many details, Overwatch 2 will also have a new ping system that will favor communication by not being in voice with our opponents. Therefore, the focus on certain opponents will be logically much simpler and communications will be more fluid.
Let's go for the new champions
With Overwatch 2, it is very possible that new heroes will eventually appear. From Echo , it's true that no new face has appeared. While it is very nice to know soon A Sojourn , it is undeniable that the arrival of new heroes should be done to create hype.
In addition, given that Overwatch 2 seems to be finally on the right path of development, it is now sure that new heroes will appear in the Activision Blizzard FPS. Rumors already circulate on a Romanian hero, but hey... It's probably too early to dream.
A new aspect for our heroes
The developers have continued saying in the various conferences that the characters were going to change a bit. With the desire to make them more humans for the launch of the game in the future, the heroes we know well will receive a small appearance change to modify some details.
Developers want to focus on creating a much cleaner identity and a much more detailed armor than usual. As a result, although we always interpret the same characters, they will have evolved graphically.
