Overwatch 2: How much does it cost to buy all the skins in the game? Total price is exorbitant
Available for free to play since October 4, Overwatch 2 is causing controversy between its catastrophic release , several bugs, the colossal number of players or even its unattractive economic model. Completely free now, it is obviously possible to spend money on the game to get cosmetics, but you know exactly how many reais you will have to pay to get all cosmetics ?
free, but with exorbitant prices
Overwatch 2's new economic model is neither new nor surprising since many other great titles use free-to-play, such as Genshin Impact, Fortnite, League of Legends, etc... without really embarrassing. Configure the right way and with a regular free reward system and becomes a business way to attract more players and make money from your cosmetics purchases.
In Overwatch 2, which is free for download, skins and other cosmetic items can be purchased at store or a premium version of the battle pass . This battle pass is the new game progression system where you have to complete missions and play matches to earn experience points to level up. Each previous classification receives free or premium rewards.
Therefore, Overwatch 2 is not considered a pay to win, i.e. you are no better than other players by buying cosmetic items. However, The Progression of the Battle Pass in the Free Version seems frustrating for players who report an unfair model.
This is even more unfair for former players of the first game, used to being able to easily collect skins with events and using coins that win while playing, which now need to play for hours and hours if they want to wait any. Currently, there are four coins available in the game:
Classic credits *: These are the coins you had in Overwatch, which were transferred. It is impossible to earn more now. You can spend them to buy old skins on the Heroes tab, Overwatch * coins: This is the new OW2 currency you get when completing the challenges of the battle pass or spending real money.
tokens *: Earn watching Overwatch League matches. You can only change them with very specific skins Competitive starting coins *: used to turn your normal weapons into golden weapons
How much do all the skins of the game cost?
As you may have understood, the main currency today is very difficult to play. a week, you can earn 60 coins completing the weekly challenges of the battle pass. The only other way is to pay knowing that 500 coins cost $23.00 and that a legendary skin costs at least 1000 coins (i.e. $46.00).
In all, it would cost $52,000 for a player who wanted to purchase all game skins . A somewhat exorbitant value, from which we only saw something similar in Immortal Diablo, another Blizzard game with a monetization model that is not favorable for players.
